Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
  • Experience with visual design in product or UX design environments.
  • Experience designing consumer-facing products.
  • Experience creating, implementing, defining, or working with design systems.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience working in a cross-functional organization.
  • 1 year of experience leading design projects.
  • Experience designing across multiple platforms, including mobile, desktop, and TV surfaces.
  • Experience partnering with UXR to amplify research and bring impact to the product.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with an understanding of how to best position and present design work to a range of audiences.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$185,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including User experience researchers (UXR), User Experience Engineer (UXE), Product Manager, Engineer, and Data Science, to help define the product goals and design features.
  • Develop design solutions with a strategic approach while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and working within given constraints.
  • Support and take ownership of key initiatives, such as AI labeling and provenance, global election products, and the health initiative on YouTube.
  • Employ systems thinking and a broad perspective on executional details to inform design decisions.
  • Communicate design work and strategy effectively to various audiences, including executive stakeholders.
