8 years of experience in Software Development.
5 years of experience designing, implementing, and operating production-grade autoscaling or capacity management systems for large-scale distributed services.
5 years of experience in Resource Management, Query Execution, or Distributed Scheduling within a data platform, cloud infrastructure, or related field.

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
5 years of experience writing and debuging high performance multi-threaded code.
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Design and implement autoscaling policies that masterfully balance cost and performance.
Develop and refine sophisticated scheduling algorithms that distribute resources with millisecond-level precision across a global infrastructure.
Create innovative solutions for managing idle capacity, ensuring that our customers extract maximum value from their investment in BigQuery.
Work directly with customers to understand their needs, solve their most complex performance challenges, and build the features that will define the future of data analytics.
