Engineering Lead, Payments, Tax Frontend Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience with full stack development, across the back-end such as Java, Python, GO, or C++ codebases, and front-end with JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, etc.
• 5 years of experience in testing and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  
• Experience with payments.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role with leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience with working in a matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
• Experience in billing systems or payment systems.

Payments platform is the tax User Interface (UI), which enables customers to submit tax information for purchases or, in the case of promoters, for tax withholding, ensuring Google's compliance.

The tax frontend team is dedicated to developing a Payments tax UI that delivers onboarding and reporting experience for all users, making tax compliance as effortless as possible.Users come first at Google. Nowhere is this more important than on our Advertising and Commerce team: we believe that ads and commercial information can be highly useful to our users if that information is relevant to what our users wish to find or do.
