Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • 5 years of experience in people management, with technical leadership.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 7 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales finance, and other stakeholders.
  • 7 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., marketing, business operations, consulting).
  • 5 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.
  • 5 years of experience in software development or engineering.
  • Knowledge of building accessibility best practices and incorporating accessibility into product development methodologies, with continued interest and curiosity in this area.

In this role, you will lead the Storytelling team, owning the Memories feature and video creation/editing tools. You will blend creative goal with rigor to evolve the product experience and leverage generative AI technologies. Your focus will be on understanding user engagement funnels and collaborating with Engineering to drive sustainable growth in top-level engagement metrics for Google Photos.

Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google. Photos is one of the most sought after products at Google and is looking for both client-side (web and mobile), with server-side (search, storage, serving) and machine intelligence (learning, computer vision) Software Engineers. We are dedicated to making Google experiences centered around the user.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define a bold, multi-year product strategy aligned with the broader Photos organization's goals, influencing investment and design decisions while shaping overall Photos strategy.
  • Drive deep and consistent alignment with Photos leads, cross-functional teams, and other Google Product areas through effective communication and stakeholder management.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, UX, and Program Management leads to build culture and processes that enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Lead a team of Program Managers across US, Sydney, and Bangalore by growing their skills and empowering them to make greater contributions to the Photos mission.
  • Deliver IC work with speed and quality to unblock urgent projects.
