We are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer with an AI and Data Science background to join our team and help deliver seamless, high-quality, and reliable services, and infrastructure that power mission-critical business applications including AI workloads. As part of the Agent 365 Team, you will design and build globally distributed services that support enterprise-scale AI and business workflows, fine-tune models, and help curate datasets and build an evals and experimentation platform.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile  commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.   

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience partnering and collaborating with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., product manager, technical lead) to determine user requirements for a set of scenarios.  
  • 4+ years of experience utilizing a variety of feedback channels to incorporate insights into future designs or solution fixes.  
  • 4+ years of experience leading incorporation of appropriate continuous feedback loops measuring customer value, usage patterns, and other actionable metrics of value.  
  • 4+ years of experience leveraging subject matter expertise to analyze problems and issues facing projects to uncover, manage, and/or mitigate factors that can influence final outcomes across product lines.

 

Other Requirements  

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:    

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.   

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience designing large scale, disributed systems.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
