As our Print and Colors Operations & Design Lead, you'll use your creative and organizational skills to improve how we work. In this position, you'll work on print and color development , balancing creative excellence with operational efficiency and implementing innovative solutions that enhance our creative output while maintaining high-quality standards. Your primary focus will be Kids, Baby, Licensed Products, and Home categories, with potential to expand into a wider range of product categories across the business.
Success in this role requires strong collaboration skills as you'll partner with various teams to drive improvements and build lasting relationships across the organization.

Key job responsibilities
Design Leadership & Execution
• Lead quarterly and off cycle print and pattern development aligned with brand DNA
• Create innovative prints and patterns for Kids, Baby, Licensed Products, and Home categories, with flexibility to support additional categories as business needs evolve
• Design repeat patterns and engineered prints according to product specifications
• Develop colorways and adapt designs across various materials and applications
• Research and interpret trends to create compelling artwork and seasonal palettes

Color & Artwork Management
• Lead strategic color palette development and standardization across categories Lead implementation of color and artwork management systems
• Define and maintain design guidelines and SOPs
• Optimize design asset management and organization across PLM systems
• Support digital workflow optimization initiatives

Cross-functional Collaboration
• Partner with Product Managers, Product Developers, Business Managers, and Design teams
• Coordinate with licensors to ensure design meets brand requirements
• Lead artwork presentations and assortment planning
• Work closely with technical teams to ensure print feasibility and quality

Innovation & Market Awareness
• Explore and implement new Gen AI Design tools and techniques
• Monitor competitor activity and consumer preferences
• Support trend analysis and seasonal direction development


A day in the life
As a Print and Colors Operations & Design Lead, your day involves balancing creative design work with operational management. You'll create artworks and review ongoing print development projects with cross-functional teams. You'll define fashion and evergreen color palettes for upcoming seasons, ensuring trend relevance and consistency across categories and fabrics.

Working closely with designers and product developers, you'll ensure artwork meets both creative and technical requirements while maintaining cost efficiency. Your role includes optimizing digital workflows, conducting market research, and guiding team members on process improvements. You'll coordinate with international teams, evaluate new design technologies, and mentor team members.

This dynamic position combines hands-on design work with operational leadership, allowing your artistic vision and strategic thinking to shape our product development process

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or related creative field
• 7+ years combined experience in print design and creative operations
• Proven expertise in designing for Kids and Baby. We also welcome experience in Licensed Products and Home categories
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Experience tracking market trends and conducting competitive design research
• Track record in color palette development and management

Technical Expertise
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and CAD software (e.g., Nedgraphics, Aquario)
• Advanced knowledge of color theory, repeat layouts, and technical requirements
• Experience with print production techniques and PLM systems
• Understanding of digital design tools and creative workflows

Operational skills
• Experience managing complex design projects across multiple categories. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Proven success in workflow optimization and process improvement
• Experience working in fast-paced environment with multiple cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical skills with ability to track, analyze, and report operational metrics and performance KPIs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of advanced design tools (e.g., 3D, GEN AI)
• Experience with online retail
• Experience in Global team collaboration
• Proven ability to translate seasonal stories into compelling print and color strategies through Marketing collaboration

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
