Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • Active, or the ability to obtain, a Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in a technical field.
  • Experience delivering mission solutions to the Department of Defense and other US agencies.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
  • Knowledge of government compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST 800-53 and others.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

As a Technical Lead for Google Public Sector Cloud Infrastructure, you will lead the engineering delivery of cloud infrastructure that will serve the missions within the defense and national security market. In this role, you will be involved in security and infrastructure while spanning people, process and technology, with the ability to collaborate across Google engineering organizations to deliver new technology and capabilities.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Apply expertise in cloud computing and experience building and operating software or hardware to drive success in collaborating with fellow engineers and engineering leaders.
  • Drive the strategy and roadmap for infrastructure security initiatives, author and review design documents to ensure security and scalability considerations, and develop and implement automation for security controls and threat detection across the infrastructure.
