Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on test automation, developer productivity, or software quality.
  • 7 years of experience building developer tools that improve developer velocity, code quality and code health (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).
  • 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
  • Experience with existing LLM technologies and code generation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 12 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on test automation, developer productivity, or software quality.
  • 7 years of experience in a technical leadership role involving setting technical direction and leading cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Experience in applying Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) or LLMs to software engineering issues.
  • Ability to influence and align executive leadership and multiple engineering teams around a common goal.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership and direction to transform software testing at Google. You will reduce the overall testing burden on developers by leveraging AI, code generation, and intelligent agents. You will include fully automating unit test creation, deploying agentic solutions to increase code coverage, and ultimately making a significant impact on the quality of the products Google ships to its users.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead team, and architect the technical goals and roadmap for leveraging AI and large language models (LLMs) to revolutionize the software testing lifecycle within and outside of the Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
  • Manage new testing initiatives across the Developer Transformation portfolio, from conception to scaled implementation.
  • Develop a culture of innovation and act as the executive technical authority for modern testing solutions, pushing the boundaries of what LLM technology can achieve in the testing domain.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to understand quality issues and deliver transformative, data-motivated solutions that enhance developer productivity and product excellence.
