Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in C++, Software development, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Platform.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in C++, Boq, Pod, Scaffolding.

Semantic Understanding platform is used to enhance Google’s understanding of the world by enabling powerful user experiences in Google products through information retrieval and greater understanding of data in all its forms, for example, text, audio, images, videos, and multi-modal.

The Semantic Understanding Framework team is responsible for providing a comprehensive, scalable developer ecosystem for all Google developers to build signals in the Semantic Understanding Platform.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for semantic data understanding at Google.
• Enhance Google’s understanding of the world and help products build powerful user experiences.
• Understand Semantic Platform transforms and raw data types (e.g. text, entity, intent, images, videos, etc) into a semantic representation.
• Drive the technical strategy and direction for the projects you own and collaborate with PM/TPgM/SRE/Dev partners and other stakeholders, driving technical direction and roadmap, leading technical projects, ensuring smooth production operations, engaging with customers, and doing anything else required for the team to be successful.
