We are the Entra Admin Management UX team part of IAM organization, to empower every Entra customer to drive organizational compliance and security through a high-quality, secure, and intelligent admin center. The team builds and maintains the Entra Admin Center – a single interface for managing Identities and access. It supports cloud environment and aims to deliver intuitive, consistent, and secure unified Admin experience; leads frontend engineering for Entra, setting standards for shared UX libraries. The team is also driving a transformative shift toward AI-first experience through copilot integration across agents, workflows and admin interfaces to provide unified Copilot UX platform and shared infrastructure.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in various languages, especially web-based technologies like JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and C#.
  • 1+ years of Backend technologies: Proficient in backend technologies and cloud-based architectures to build large-scale distributed systems.

 

Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings.
Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Skilled in analyzing and solving problems using query languages and tools such as Kusto.
  • Experience in AI/ML is a plus.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer II, you will:

  • Deliver world-class user experiences and planet-scale cloud services to customers in collaboration with architects, UX designers, and product managers.
  • Design, code, test, and operate applications that are performant, reliable, secure, responsive, and accessible UI effectively abstracts customer workflow concepts.
  • Make engineering investments, adopt AI-first experience and build reusable components to ship faster with higher quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to deliver new value in our product and across Microsoft’s products technical leader across release cycles, various layers of the service stack and in wide cross-org collaboration.
  • Mentor developers, act as technical leader across the org in various initiatives.
  • Collaboration and communication skills across disciplines, levels, and product teams.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills quickly.
