Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience working with Java or Python.
  • Experience with system integrations, including working with Application programming interfaces (APIs) (e.g., Representational State Transfer (REST), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS) or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in designing and implementing solutions for data processing and analysis.
  • Experience with business planning or compensation platforms (e.g., Anaplan, CallidusCloud/SAP Sales Cloud) and with Google's development and data.
  • Experience integrating on-premise or Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions with custom-built enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge in Business Planning, Territory Management, Quota Planning, or Business Compensation processes.

You lead all aspects of web development, requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of Googlers using UI and functional specs/prototypes as input. You are empowered to act like an owner, take action and innovate to meet user and customer needs.

As a Senior Application Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, implementing, and optimizing scalable, and well-integrated applications within the Plan to Pay ecosystem. You will have significant influence, taking ownership of key components and workstreams, particularly focusing on system integrations and the interaction with our first-party systems and data platforms. You will be expected to manage ambiguous problems, driving solutions from concepts through launch and operation, often setting the technical direction for other engineers. This role requires a blend of software engineering skills, expertise in system integrations, data processing, business acumen in the business planning and compensation domain, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Write clear, modular, well-structured, and self-sustaining codes, and develop overall systems design, research, and evaluate vendor supplied applications, and develop recommendations on those applications.
  • Help design, build, and deploy internal business applications to support Google’s technology lifecycle, collaboration and spaces, service delivery management, and data and business intelligence.
  • Conduct and oversee testing of application modules to ensure application meets specifications and collaborate with analysts and business process owners within one or more teams to help translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Design, build, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance applications and integrations, including connections between Google's internal systems and various third-party platforms used within the Plan to Pay ecosystem.
  • Develop and manage data integrations and pipelines between various systems First-Party and Third Party (1P and 3P), ensuring data integrity and performance for data processing.
