We're seeking an experienced Principal Technical Program Manager to lead critical infrastructure optimization initiatives for Amazon's Demand-Side Platform (DSP). This role will drive strategic technical programs to optimize infrastructure costs and operational efficiency while ensuring platform reliability, scalability, and performance. This role will be responsible for programs that directly impact Amazon Ads' operating costs and efficiency.
Key job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead large-scale technical programs focused on DSP infrastructure cost optimization, efficiency improvements, and architectural evolution
• Partner with engineering teams to identify, analyze, and implement cost-saving opportunities across compute, storage, and networking resources
• Develop and maintain infrastructure cost models, forecasts, and optimization roadmaps
• Drive technical decision-making processes and establish governance frameworks for infrastructure spending
• Create and implement metrics and dashboards to track infrastructure utilization, costs, and optimization efforts
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to define technical requirements, dependencies, and delivery timelines
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders across Engineering, Finance, and Product teams
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve operational excellence and cost efficiency
• Mentor other TPMs and establish best practices for infrastructure cost management
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience managing complex costs for distributed systems running in cloud environments

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
