DESCRIPTION

Amazon Photos is looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to lead our Photo & Video Computer Vision AI (CV-AI) product portfolio. You'll drive AI technology that understands elements of customers' photos and videos while preserving customer trust. This deep understanding powers search, organization, and curated memories that reach millions of customers through Amazon Photos apps, Echo Show, and Fire TV.

The ideal candidate is passionate about building delightful experiences for customers using AI and thrives on dealing with ambiguity head-on. You write high-quality documents to help the team analyze complex issues and make sound recommendations using your analytical abilities and strong judgment. You love to learn by diving deep into both customer behaviors and technology, using this superpower to deliver results. At the same time, you think ahead and big to help the team build a compelling vision, strategy, and roadmap.

Key job responsibilities
1. Understand customer experiences across Amazon Photos Apps, Echo Show, and Fire TV, including backup, search, browsing, organization, memories, and sharing. Innovate to enhance these experiences using CV-AI.

2. Collaborate with Applied Science, Engineering, Product Management peers, and Leadership to craft Amazon Photos' product vision. Develop a prioritized CV-AI investment roadmap based on ROI and cost analysis.

3. Work with UI Product Managers to design experiences that collect implicit and explicit customer feedback, measuring CV model efficacy.

4. Evaluate AI models' impact on customer and business metrics through offline and production testing. Monitor emerging CV-AI trends and propose new investment opportunities through detailed analysis documents.

5. Create and execute SQL-like scripts for quantitative analysis.

6. Coordinate with Legal, PR, and Privacy partners to ensure responsible CV-AI implementation that protects customer privacy and minimizes potential harm.

A day in the life
1. Define AI models that serve customer needs for Photos, Videos, and Memories.

2. Develop strategies to acquire and validate training datasets for AI models.

3. Analyze costs and ROI in partnership with Applied Science and Engineering teams.

4. Create offline validation mechanisms with Applied Science and Engineering teams.

5. Design and implement A/B experiments to measure success metrics. Document proposals for major AI investments.

6. Prepare comprehensive decision-making documents for the team and leadership, analyzing critical choices including one-way-door decisions.

7. Lead cross-functional collaboration with Product Management peers, Applied Science, Engineering, Legal, Privacy, and PR partners.

8. Drive end-to-end customer experiences to launch specific CV/AI models to market.

Amazon Photos helps customers preserve and re-live their memories. The service comes with unlimited photo storage for Prime members and apps are available on iOS, Android, Web, Desktop, & Fire TV. The service is also integrated into Alexa devices such as Echo Show. Amazon Photos is the one of the main digital offering to Prime subscribers along with Amazon Music and Amazon Video offerings. We have ambitious goals to scale growth and adoption of the service around the world and delight our customers with a great product.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of end to end product delivery experience
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience managing technical products or online services
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight
- Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
- Experience driving executive alignment on high-stakes/one-way-door decisions with implications on high engineering or operational cost, brand reputation, and/or CX.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
