As a part of this role, you will work with the Multi-Tenant Collaboration Team within the Identity and Access Management domain. This team is dedicated to delivering a secure, seamless collaboration experience for organizations leveraging Microsoft Applications. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in distributed systems and the development of high-scale, mission-critical services. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will demonstrate technical leadership in designing robust architectural solutions, mentoring and guiding fellow engineers, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. You will be adept at evaluating complex technical challenges, driving cross-team alignment, and advocating for best practices in security, reliability, and maintainability. Your experience will enable you to anticipate potential obstacles, propose effective strategies, and ensure successful delivery of collaborative features that impact millions of users.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

                         OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of experience with Distributed Services

 

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 


• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python or equivalent experience.
  • Solid foundation in software engineering principles and architecture design
  • Experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain large-scale identity infrastructure capable of managing millions of requests daily.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other teams to create and deliver features from initial concept to Production.
  • Work within a framework that emphasizes ongoing improvement, adaptation, and learning, informed by data analysis.
  • Take part in on-call rotations, site reviews, and incident investigations to contribute to system reliability and team knowledge.
  • Provide guidance to engineers, promoting inclusion, technical accuracy, and consistent improvement.
  • Support the development of an engineering culture focused on growth and professional development.
