Working closely with scientists, we develop novel solutions that deliver highly relevant ads and optimize match rates through advanced identity building and resolution.

You'll drive technology choices, lead continuous innovation, and shape the future of Amazon Ads worldwide, making a significant impact on our advertising vision. We're seeking self-driven and talented engineers to design and develop identity constructs, models and resolution systems that operate at internet-scale with optimized latency and ops cost to drive Amazon's revenue.

As a Data Engineer in Amazon Ads Identity, you will architect and build a robust data fabric that powers our advertising solutions. The ideal candidate will lead the development of a unified and automated data orchestration layer, establish comprehensive data dictionaries and models, data cataloging, data monitoring, data quality, implement best data practices and create a feature repository for modeled identity solutions. This is a strategic role created in response to our team's growing needs in handling worldwide internet-scale identity signals, which we leverage to develop sophisticated identity constructs and models.





Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Partner with our experienced scientists to build and experiment with ML models in production
• Solve complex distributed systems and ad-serving challenges at massive scale
• Collaborate with senior engineers and scientists to develop innovative ad identity products
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Business Development, and partner teams on technical design and project planning
• Drive data-driven decisions for product prioritization
• Leverage emerging AWS technologies for AdTech solutions
• Think innovatively and bring creative solutions to complex problems

Growth Opportunity:
As one of the founding Data Engineers in our team, you'll help establish and shape our data engineering practices while working with internet-scale identity signals and industry-standard identity resolution technologies.

A day in the life
You will work collaboratively both within and outside of the Advertising team. As a Data Engineer, you would spend most of your time architecting, designing and implementing and the rest in collaboration and discussion. Since our team is in US East and West coast, we also like to have fun by taking time to celebrate each other and to spend time with remote happy hours.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 4+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with SQL
- Proven experience handling distributed big data scale & compute environments
- Strong background in data fabric architecture and orchestration
- Experience with establishing data dictionaries, models, cataloging, monitoring, and quality
- Expertise in building and maintaining feature repositories
- [Plus] Experience with identity-related data modeling and processing
- Track record of implementing robust data governance and documentation
- Tech Stack: Apache Spark, AWS CDK, Python, SQL, Amazon EMR, Apache Airflow, Athena, RedShift, Iceberg and (for internal candidates - experience with Andes, Craddle etc)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
- Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
- Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
