Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
  • 5 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with using Python for data analysis and visualization.
  • Experience working on product policy analysis and identifying policy risks.
  • Experience in developing prompts and applying Large Language Models for data labeling.
  • Experience in designing sampling approaches and using statistical analysis for making product recommendations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to details.

As a Trust and Safety Strategist, you are responsible for protecting the integrity of some of Google's key products, including Google Search, Google Maps, Google Ads, AdSense, Google Checkout and Google Product Search. You investigate financial fraud, account-related abuse, questionable business practices, violations of Google's policies, and general misuse of our products. You are introduced to dynamic analytical techniques and you leverage custom-built technology to have a direct impact on improving the experience of millions of Google users. You subscribe to a "user-first" philosophy and are interested in improving Google's user experience and product integrity. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You harness your analytical and technical skills to drive tool development and process improvements.

A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner with Search teams on project scoping, risk assessments and prioritization. Lead projects and cross-functional initiatives within Google, interacting with executive stakeholders from Engineering, Legal, Product teams.
  • Design and implement product metrics to benchmark user trust risks and track improvements over time and create datasets for engineers to evaluate and improve sensitive content classifiers while delivering leadership and impact for the broader Trust and Safety Search, Assistant and Geo team.
  • Review sensitive or violative content as part of the core role and be exposed to graphic, controversial, or upsetting content.
  • Perform on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis, including weekend coverage/holidays as needed.
  • Be an expert in Search infrastructure, ranking signals and Search features to build Large Language Model (LLM)-based models that can evaluate content safety according to our product policies.
