The Role:

As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will perform accelerated testing of devices to improve system level design, performance and quality. Use your passion in coding and diagnostic testing to stress prototypes and suggest design improvements to deliver superior products.
• Create test plans and test cases
• Efficiently execute test cases across all functional areas of our products
• Write optimized, maintainable and high structured code to test the firmware on the devices.
• Review product user interface for conformity to design guidelines
• Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution
• Interpret and report testing results, and be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process
• Work with Software Development Engineers to understand the overall technical architecture and how each feature is implemented

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience in manual testing
- 3+ years’ experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer/ SDET or in an lead role.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, EE, or related
- 3+ years of software code development and automation experience
- 3+ years’ experience working in Linux/embedded environment
- 3+ years’ experience working on platforms
- 3+ years’ experience using scripting/coding skills (Java/Python)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with Android, iOS or other mobile application development or testing
- Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality
- Experience of using test case management tools (e.g. Test Rail, TestLink) and issue management tools (Jira)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $102,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
