As a Risk Manager for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) at Amazon, you will play a crucial role in our commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable business practices. You'll lead efforts to ensure Amazon's compliance with EPR regulations across multiple jurisdictions, focusing on waste streams such as packaging, electronics, and batteries, amongst others. In this position, you'll leverage your strategic thinking, analytical skills, and stakeholder management abilities to develop innovative solutions, optimize compliance processes, and support Amazon's goals while navigating complex regulatory landscapes.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end process of Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs) selection and contracting across the United States, including tender management, contract negotiation, and relationship maintenance to ensure optimal compliance partnerships
- Manage Amazon's registration and reporting obligations with public authorities, ensuring timely submissions and maintaining accurate documentation while developing automated tracking systems
- Develop and implement comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for EPR compliance processes, incorporating automated workflows and clear escalation paths for exception handling
- Coordinate responses to regulatory audits and oversee the implementation of remediation actions, partnering with cross-functional teams to develop sustainable solutions and prevent recurring compliance gaps
- 3+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience handling confidential information
- 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience with SQL and Excel

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
