Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g.,mechanical, or electrical engineering), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience with construction quality control and quality assurance.
  • Experience with mission critical facilities.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in engineering or construction management or quality management
  • Six Sigma Blackbelt, Auditor Certifications, American Society for Quality certification (e.g., CSQP, CQE, CQM, CRE, or CQA) or equivalent certification/experience.
  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with BigQuery, software tools and applications.
  • Ability to scope project and initiatives.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time as needed.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As the Technical Program Manager, you will work with the global data center product performance and delivery program. You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement by transforming field lessons into preventative actions, ensuring new data center designs are ready for flawless deployment, and creating the standardized processes necessary to build efficiently at a global scale.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Be the main contact for field issues, working with project and construction teams, and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to implement corrective actions and prevent future problems.
  • Manage the design phase, giving crucial feedback to Engineering and Design on new data center components' buildability, safety, and serviceability for mass deployment.
  • Create and standardize processes to streamline the project lifecycle, supporting efficient global scaling, and lead automation and tooling improvements to boost data accuracy, speed up timelines, and reduce manual effort.
  • Train and guide project teams on new products, best practices, and lessons learned, translate into clear guidance via a central knowledge base, and act as a trusted advisor for new standard adoption.
