If so, the Alexa Routines team is looking for a Software Engineer to help revolutionize our customers' experiences by connecting Routines to real-world events, global knowledge, and anything Alexa knows.
Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate is passionate about Alexa and improving the lives of customers through great technology. You have a track record of successfully delivering new and technically challenging products. You are entrepreneurial, comfortable operating with ambiguity and willing to develop quick proof of concepts. You are excited about creating reliable, scalable, and high-performance products with your sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building distributed systems. You have experience collaborating with other talented engineers to bring great ideas to life.
A day in the life
In this role you will design, implement and deliver innovative experiences as part of Alexa Routines. We work on expanding what Alexa Routines can do and redefining the end-to-end experience. You will work with an experienced team to participate in full life-cycle development with opportunities to work in both front end and back end services. This role gives you the opportunity to directly impact millions of Amazon customers, and help shape the product along the way.
About the team
Our mission is to make customers’ lives easier through engagement with Alexa+. Our broader team is based primarily in Seattle (WA) and Irvine (CA). We are empowered to move fast and deliver great experiences for customers. We truly enjoy working together, are passionate about the space, and have a lot of fun along the way!
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
