Want to design technology that helps keep millions of people safe? As a UX Designer at Ring, you'll shape how people interact with our mobile apps, making security features feel simple and intuitive. Working with other designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers, you'll develop ideas from early concepts through to features used by customers worldwide. This role combines creative problem-solving with meaningful impact - designing digital experiences that provide peace of mind to customers every day.
Key job responsibilities
- Create world-class, user-centered designs based on customer needs, feedback and business requirements.
- Collaborate with Product Management and the User Research team to ensure a consistent and delightful experience.
- Collaborate with software engineers to bring the resulting designs and vision to market.
- Leverage AI technologies to innovate, improve customer experiences, or enhance operational efficiency or effectiveness as a designer.
- Use design systems to maintain consistency across product pages and other marketing experiences.
- Champion accessibility, mobile-first design, and user empathy throughout the design process.
- Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes and detailed user-interface specifications
- Present design work to the design team, product team, and leadership for review and feedback
- Work with an international team across multiple US and European time zones.
A day in the life
In this role, you'll partner with product managers and UX researchers to understand project goals and create designs that align with our overall product strategy. Your work will range from high-level concepts to detailed specifications, collaborating closely with developers to bring these designs to life. You will work with multiple teams in a fast paced environment, embedded with a community of designers and researchers who provide feedback and support.
About the team
The Creative and Design Group (CDG) is a collaborative, multi-disciplinary organization of designers, engineers, writers, researchers, product managers, and program managers working together to bring the Ring, Blink, Key, Sidewalk (RBKS) product vision to life. We enjoy what we do, have big ideas, and tackle complex problems by taking risks that drive global solutions. In every work stream, we immerse ourselves in insights, and invent on behalf of our customers. We brainstorm scenarios they will benefit from and solutions to pain points—crafting innovative products that aim to connect the physical and digital customer journey.
- 5+ years of design experience
- 3+ years of delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience prototyping (HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, Flash or Flash Catalyst, or Axure)
- 2+ years of mass-market consumer web / mobile products experience
- Experience shipping innovative, successful consumer products
- Ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
