Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a research or quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience designing, scoping, executing, and delivering research and analysis projects.
  • 5 years of experience translating business problems into research questions and translating research findings and insights into marketing recommendations.
  • Experience managing research and measurement agencies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience with qualitative research methods and approaches.
  • 5 years of experience with sampling, survey writing, and analysis of survey data including weighting and assessing data quality.
  • 5 years of experience with designing experiments, analyzing data from experiments, and summarizing findings.
  • 5 years of experience analyzing and manipulating data sets to leverage data insights into presentations for business stakeholders.
  • 3 years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL) and tools to work with data sets.

Taking strategy one step further, you also persuasively communicate your recommendations to senior-level executives, roll-up your sleeves to help drive implementation and check back-in to see the impact of your recommendations.

The mission of the Customer and Business Intelligence (CBI) team is to accelerate business growth and smarter decision-making by delivering exceptional customer and market intelligence to our partners across Google’s Ads business. We are a team of Researchers, Activation Leads, and Operations Managers conducting advertiser research and data analytics. We measure customers sentiment across the Ads Ecosystem and work cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Sales and organization to generate actionability.

CBI is a part of the Global Go-to-Market organization, responsible for ensuring Google's complex business pursues optimal strategies and executes flawlessly. In this role, you will serve as an expert in business strategy, problem-solving, and strategic research, focusing on pragmatic and results-oriented outcomes.


The US base salary range for this full-time position is $137,000-$201,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Use primary and secondary market research and first- and third-party data to gather information, conduct analysis, and synthesize information to solve problems, and influence business decision-making present insights and market trends.
  • Develop comprehensive strategies that solve complex business issues and address the needs of stakeholders across various functions to drive incremental growth.
  • Build partnership with executive leaders across Google’s Go-to-Market, Product, Engineering, Brand and Sales organizations, ensure actionability of insights through cross functional collaboration.
  • Message actionable insights through written reports, self-service dashboards, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing survey research offerings, methods, and processes and to the development of new offerings that will create positive impact for Google and our users.
