Amazon Advertising is looking for a high-caliber and tested design leader to create innovative experiences that streamline enterprise workflows, internally and externally, globally and at scale. In this role, you’ll lead (and grow) a high-performing team of UX professionals—working collaboratively with user research, engineering, and product management through all aspects of the product development life-cycle.
This work has strategic significance and high leadership exposure. You'll have the opportunity to build new advertising solutions starting with product definition. Most importantly, you will have direct insights from customers, and impact the customer experience of advertisers, agencies and brand-owners globally.
Amazon is investing heavily in building a world-class advertising business and we’re responsible for defining and delivering a collection of self-service advertising products that drive discovery and sales. We deliver billions of ad impressions and millions of clicks daily, and we’re breaking fresh ground to create world-class products. Because successful advertising starts with a great customer experience, our team works backwards from the shopper to meet the needs of our advertising customers. If you’re interested in joining a rapidly growing team working to build a unique, truly innovative advertising group with a relentless focus on the customer, you’ve come to the right place.
Our ideal candidate is a pragmatic manager of managers who can operate both tactically with high attention to details, as well as think big visualizing an experience in the abstract and then driving that vision into solid design deliverables (e.g. UI, IA, prototypes) with their team.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary design team including other managers
• Have deep expertise in UX design (frameworks, interaction models, prototypes, research)
• Think big, framing designs in the context of the broader customer experience, and are equally comfortable diving deep into the details
• Present design work to stakeholders, customers, and executive leadership for review, feedback, and sign-off
• Prioritize effectively, use data to inform your decisions, weigh the impact and tradeoffs of decisions, and seek input where needed to drive alignment
• Work closely with product, engineering, and business partners to develop a shared vision and lead a process to define and design experiences that deliver on those shared objectives
• Comfortable navigating from ambiguity to clarity, drawing upon your expertise and design process to create structure.
• Proactively plan ahead, look around corners, and can see the next step (even when it doesn’t exist yet)
• Develop processes that drive quality and efficiency to help designers accomplish more than what they could otherwise
