DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Devices team designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics, including the best-selling Kindle family of products. We have also produced innovative devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, and Amazon Echo, and the Astro personal robot. What will you help us create?

As a Pre-Silicon Platforms Manager, you will lead the team responsible for delivering a variety of platforms used in the development of SoCs. Your team will be responsible for creating both SW and HW models (emulation / prototyping / FPGA) of SoC designs for delivery to a variety of internal customers (DV / Validation / SW).


Key job responsibilities
- Define and drive a strategy that builds the correct mix of HW / SW platforms to meet customer’s needs within the given resource constraints
- Research and adopt new methodologies to left-shift SW development
- Manage HW compute resources against forecasted usage
- Hire and develop a team to deliver the required platforms
- Drive development of efficient debug flows
- Deep dive on key technical issues

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in EE, CE, or CS
• 5+ years experience of management / leading engineering teams
• 5+ years experience of SoC emulation / prototyping / FPGA or similar

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Masters/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years experience of management / leading engineering teams
• 10+ years experience of SoC emulation / prototyping / FPGA or similar
• Experience with more than one of emulation / prototyping / FPGA
• Experience with high-level modelling and modelling for performance
• Experience working with ARM based multi-media SoCs
• Experience working with variety of SW teams (bootROM, BSP, application)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $157,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $272,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
