DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an exceptional technical leader to spearhead our strategic Network Data and AI initiatives within the telecommunications industry. In this highly strategic and technical role, you will drive AWS's vision for Agentic Networks through collaboration with global telecommunications leaders and multi-sector industry engagements. You will architect and drive development of sophisticated AI models combining network domain expertise with advanced language modeling capabilities, lead the technical evolution of our Agentic AI Marketplace focusing on AI-powered RAN applications (rApps), and design cross-operator AI solutions leveraging autonomous agents and federated learning. Your responsibilities will include driving technical strategy for network automation and self-optimization through AI/ML, partnering with global telco CTOs and technical leaders to shape the future of 6G networks, and leading architectural discussions on Network Data and AI transformation with C-suite executives. You will guide the development of industry standards for Network Data & AI through leadership in global industry initiatives and author technical whitepapers and reference architectures for Network AI and autonomous network operations.






Key job responsibilities
Drive the development of advanced AI models that combine network domain expertise with language modeling techniques. Design and architect large-scale, distributed network automation platforms and AI-driven solutions for telecommunications. Apply hands-on experience with AWS services to solve complex network challenges. Communicate fluently with customers at all levels, from network engineers to boardrooms, evolving to the "trusted advisor" for Network Data and AI. Think strategically about intricate technical and business challenges related to autonomous networks and 6G technologies. Build deep relationships to become customers' trusted advisor for their critical network transformation initiatives. Drive business engagements to develop technical strategies for implementing AI-powered network solutions on the cloud. Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS's network-related services and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure they design solutions for resiliency, security, and cost optimization. Collaborate across AWS teams to drive and shape new Network AI solutions for repeatable customer business outcomes. Represent and promote AWS's capabilities within the telecommunications community. Assist Partners in designing and implementing large-scale network automation and AI solutions. Drive best-practices for deploying, running, and managing AI-driven network workloads on AWS. Contribute to AWS internal and customer-facing publications on Network AI topics.

A day in the life
In this role, you will partner with global telecommunications leaders and AWS teams to design and implement cloud architectures for Network AI workloads. Your deep expertise in network engineering, AI/ML, and autonomous systems will help create reference architectures that accelerate customers' network transformation. As a trusted customer advocate, you'll balance strategic customer engagements with hands-on technical work, developing architectural patterns and best practices for Network AI solutions. You'll contribute to the broader telecommunications community through whitepapers, speaking engagements, and industry consortia while continuously expanding your expertise in networks & AI technologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
- Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent
- Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent
- Knowledge of database design and implementation or equivalent
- Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers
- Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $164,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $284,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
