We are seeking a passionate and expert Developer Experience Manager to develop and lead our onboarding experience for developers across our products, improving the quality of the learning resources to meet developer needs and business goals. This role requires a background in instructional design applied to technical audiences, helping teams craft impactful content, defining templates and delivery mechanisms, and rolling up its sleeves to get authors across the finish line when needed.
What you'll be doing:
Design developer journeys and implement effective content strategies that consider the entire learning ecosystem, including structured courses and informal opportunities.
Champion a user-centric approach, focusing on jobs-to-be-done and working backwards from learning outcomes to build engaging content across various modalities.
Analyze developer learning journey needs in collaboration with leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and learners to identify and address gaps.
Define project workflows, potentially adapting models like ADDIE, to ensure clarity in project intake, milestone tracking, and stakeholder communication.
Evaluate content performance, author feedback, and learner progress, using data to inform improvements.
Establish and maintain a library of resources, templates, runbooks, and tutorials to ensure consistency and streamline content lifecycle management.
Potentially create technical, process, or soft-skill content for various audiences.
Explore innovative approaches to scale work, such as the use of generative AI to expedite content creation.
Coach SMEs and other team members to build effective developer-centric content, sharing standard processes and creating online resources for SMEs to improve their authoring workflows.
What we need to see:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Instructional Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
12+ years of experience.
Demonstrated ability in structuring technical content for effective onboarding on software platforms or products.
Consistent track record of running complex learning projects with multiple collaborators, preferably in a global setting.
Experience designing and developing developer learning journeys.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with SMEs, collaborators, and learners.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Master's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
Background with documentation systems and information architecture, particularly for technical content.
Experience using data and analytics to measure learning effectiveness and drive improvements.
Experience developing blended learning solutions and onboarding programs.
Knowledge of generative AI tools and their application in learning content creation.
