Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • 5 years of experience in people management, with technical leadership.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with platform development or working with third-party developer ecosystems.
  • Experience with connected home devices, IoT ecosystems, or products with hardware and software integration.
  • Knowledge of user experience principles, with a passion for crafting products.
  • Ability to develop and execute a multi-year product strategy for a product portfolio.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and align senior leaders and cross-functional teams without formal authority.

As the Group Product Manager for Google Home Device Experiences, you will lead the team responsible for defining the software experience for key smart home products. You will be responsible for balancing the need for specific devices with the challenge of creating a scalable framework for an expanding ecosystem.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop, communicate, and execute the product strategy and roadmap for Google Home’s device experiences, identifying key opportunities and driving innovation.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and execution.
  • Drive product definition and delivery from concept to launch, working with Engineering, UX, and hardware teams to build seamless, integrated experiences.
  • Define and manage the strategic balance between creating device-specific user experiences and maintaining a scalable, cohesive product ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with marketing, business development, and other stakeholders to ensure product launches and market adoption.
