DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Strategic Partnerships Team (SPT) as a Principal Tech BD.

SPT’s primary objective is to identify and orchestrate strategic partnerships that accelerate our Devices & Services (D&S) business. We dive deep and provide thoughtful technical analysis to our leadership teams, but are adaptable and nimble, focused on quickly gaining enough context to enable informed decision-making. We are a tight-knit global team that values individuals who are self-starters, can think creatively and with clarity, and proactively seek out net-new strategic pursuits.

As a Tech Business Development Leader, you will be responsible for identifying, orchestrating, and delivering strategic pursuits with our most important partners. This is a high visibility role that requires the candidate to work with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership (Director/VP/SVP levels), to create stronger customer value propositions. The candidate will need to understand where our relative advantages or risks lie, when major features in existing roadmaps are set to launch, and current trends around innovation, consolidation and customer adoption. This could mean incubating technology deals or programs which are seminal in nature, need a centralized advocate, and have broader implications to Amazon, so the candidate must think strategically and support their recommendation with sound business judgement and insights.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully identifying and delivering strategic partnerships, developing scalable mechanisms, and closing complex deals. This role requires top tier written and verbal communication with extensive experience in cross-functional collaboration across leadership levels to formulate comprehensive business strategies aligned with organizational goals.

This is a highly technical role, and requires fundamental understanding of technology domains such as AI, system-on-chip, connectivity, device hardware/ software, Operating systems.

This role requires international travel up to 30% of the time.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience in developing, negotiating and executing business agreements
- Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organizations
- Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of the following technology domains - AI, System-on-Chip, connectivity, Operating Systems, device HW/SW.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA
- Knowledge of AWS and D&S (Alexa, FireTV) technologies is a plus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
