NVIDIA is seeking an exceptional Senior System Software Engineer to join our GPU System Software team. This team is responsible for developing comprehensive system software solutions from concept to production. In this role, you will be integral in overseeing the entire lifecycle of GPU feature development, including proof of concept, design, architecture, algorithm implementation, and both pre/post-SI optimization. Your primary focus will be on optimizing and tuning performance and power efficiency, utilizing both hardware and software architectures to deliver industry-leading, energy-efficient consumer products.
What you will be doing:
Execute power, performance, and thermal assessments, analysis, and tuning to achieve platform key performance indicators
Define POC, design, develop, profile and tune GPUs and platform software components focusing on performance and platform controllers.
Drive and resolve complex optimization strategies independently across multiple teams and technical subject areas.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with local and remote teams and drive interaction with OEM/ODM partners.
What we need to see:
5+ years of industry experience in system software or related field.
B.S. or higher degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science/Engineering and related field.
Prior experience in platform, SoC, CPU, and GPU DVFS, power and thermal controller profiling, and HW/SW optimization
Strong programming skills in C, Solid background in operating system internals, device drivers, real-time embedded operating systems, algorithms, and data structures.
In-depth knowledge of low-level power controller fundamentals like DVFS, HW, and SW-based closed-loop controllers, and power-saving features such as power gating and clock gating.
Design and improve diagnostic tools and monitoring systems to support identification of power and performance inefficiencies and potential optimization solutions
Must be able to work closely with hardware designers and other driver engineers to create new features and solutions.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Architecture and design experience in SoC/GPU software power management and optimization.
Knowledge of key GPU/CPU workloads in the industry and their system-level interactions and dependencies
Strong grasp of Power/Performance/Thermal management tuning and optimization methodology
Good understanding of lab equipment like DAQ, logic analyzers and oscilloscopes and debug tools like JTAG debugger
Working experience in system software, operating system internals of Linux and Windows, kernel modules, and device drivers.

The base salary range is 148,000 USD - 287,500 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.You will also be eligible for equity and benefits. NVIDIA accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
