Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience managing the delivery of network technologies or services within network environments (e.g., Service Provider, Enterprise, or Cloud networks).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with New Product Introductions (NPIs)
  • Experience with software architecture and both the design and development of scalable and reliable systems
  • Experience with network protocols and technologies common in Service Provider or Enterprise Edge networks (e.g., BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing, SDN)
  • Experience developing and influencing long-term strategy and product roadmaps for network infrastructure or software systems.

As a Technical Program Manager in Google Networking Technologies Edge (GNT-Edge), you will play a critical role in leading cross-functional project initiatives that span organizational levels to facilitate the delivery of New Product Introductions (NPIs), network architectures, delivering new hardware and software features, and the orchestration of network migrations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Identify and initiate New Product Introductions (NPIs) in response to opportunities and needs, acting as the catalyst for gaining support and driving them to completion.
  • Collaborate with Google Networking Technologies (GNT) and Edge engineering teams to develop and articulate long-term strategy and short-term plans, creating roadmaps, engaging teams and engineers, and setting the development pace for software systems and infrastructure. 
  • Drive project delivery, technology reviews, guide technical proposals, and build consensus across cross-functional teams.
  • Design and implement new processes improvements and facilitate scaling for program teams. Contribute to improving Google's ability to deliver network capacity on-time, with availability.
  • Deliver cross-functional projects/programs, ensuring customer value, and manage Edge programs that include new NPIs, Edge architecture, features/functions to deliver new services.
