At Amazon, we're looking for an exceptional Senior Software Development Engineer to help build and scale AI tools that will revolutionize how we develop Amazon devices and services. You will be at the forefront of implementing responsible AI governance while enabling teams to work more efficiently through innovative tooling solutions.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Lead the design and development of highly scalable, enterprise-grade AI-powered developer tools that seamlessly integrate into existing engineering workflows, driving improved speed, confidence, and clarity for our teams.
- Leverage AI to automate and enhance critical stages of the development lifecycle, including code reviews, testing, documentation, and debugging, to boost productivity and quality.
- Create robust frameworks and solutions that enable the seamless integration of Generative AI technologies into our existing development environments.
- Enhance internal models with techniques like fine-tuning and retrieval-augmented generation to create highly customized AI models that leverage internal code, data and infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams across the D&S organization to identify high-impact opportunities for AI-driven automation and efficiency improvements across the software development lifecycle.
- Develop and track robust metrics to continuously evaluate the effectiveness of AI tools, using data-driven insights to guide strategic investments in the most impactful solutions.
- Define and promote best practices for the safe, responsible, and observable use of AI in software development, collaborating closely with security and compliance teams to ensure compliance and trust.
You will work with cutting-edge AI technologies like Amazon Bedrock and PartyRock to build tools that help automate manual tasks and improve productivity across Amazon. - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience developing AI or machine learning products, particularly in the context of developer tools
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI applications
- Knowledge of software development life cycle and DevOps practices
- Understanding of AI ethics and responsible AI development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
