Join Amazon Music's AI revolution as a Senior Software Development Engineer and architect the next-generation platforms that transform how millions of people discover and experience music. You'll engineer game-changing AI agents and developer productivity tools that accelerate engineering velocity across Amazon Music while working with the most advanced AI/ML technologies in the industry. This role offers the unique opportunity to design and implement AI product innovation platforms that push the boundaries of what's possible in music technology, while leading technical strategy for intelligent automation systems that eliminate developer friction at scale. You'll own architectural decisions that directly shape the future of AI-powered music experiences, mentoring engineering teams and driving adoption of AI development best practices across one of the world's largest music streaming platforms.
Key job responsibilities
Lead AI-first technical innovation by architecting and implementing core systems for the AI product innovation platform and vibe coding platform, leading projects that require work from multiple engineers while ensuring delivery across the full software lifecycle
Champion customer obsession by deeply understanding developer workflows across Amazon Music teams, then designing and building scalable tools, APIs, and frameworks that eliminate friction
Invent and simplify by identifying opportunities to automate manual processes, designing intuitive technical solutions that abstract complex AI capabilities, and making existing systems simpler while balancing speed of delivery with architectural foundation for the future
Drive engineering best practices by setting a culture of robust software development with exemplary coding practices, leading design reviews, and ensuring all code contributions demonstrate the Amazon Code Bar while serving as a role model for others
Collaborate across organizations to solve problems where business direction is understood but technology strategy is undefined
Solve complex problems through technical and non-technical solutions including process improvements, operational excellence initiatives, and mentoring programs that strengthen team capabilities and resolve root causes of endemic issues
Scale technical impact by actively coaching multiple engineers, providing career guidance, and driving adoption of AI development best practices across Amazon Music
About the team
Our mission is to accelerate Amazon Music engineers by providing advanced AI agents and automated workflows that turn creative sparks into customer-delighting features while eliminating repetitive tasks. We own two platforms: an experimental AI product innovation platform that pushes the boundaries of AI-powered music discovery, and a vibe coding AI agent that is transforming how developers build software. When the team succeeds, every Amazon Music team moves faster, thinks bigger, and ships experiences that feel like magic - powered by AI agents that handle the mundane so engineers can focus on the extraordinary.
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Expertise in machine learning, AI fundamentals, and proven experience architecting and implementing AI agent frameworks, generative AI applications, and complex AI/ML systems at scale
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Track record of leading delivery of AI/ML powered consumer products, developer platforms, or AI agents with multiple features spanning full software lifecycle

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
