We're looking for an accomplished industry leader to lead the Network Solutions team within AWS Telco. The AWS Telco Network Solutions team focuses on transforming 5G and Fixed networks by leveraging AWS Cloud Services and offerings. AWS Telco IBU Go to Market team has the mandate of working with all Telco Service Providers globally and transform all aspects of their business and Network using AWS Cloud services. The team works closely with Telco customers and Network application ISV partners to create repeatable and scalable industry solutions. We are seeking an accomplished industry leader who can develop, scale and commercialize AWS Cloud Offering for Telecom Network Functions, by delivering market making results while leading a global team.
Key job responsibilities
- The successful candidate will form and execute a strategy that delivers network transformation outcomes for Telco customers value, set group's priorities to drive strategy forward, and influence a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders.
- Candidate should enjoy working in a collaborative, analytical, and fast-paced environment and be comfortable interacting with technical, cross-functional teams.
- Candidates must dive deep into data, have strong writing and oral presentation skills, be comfortable leading executive-level reviews, and dealing with ambiguity/complexity.
- Responsibilities will include creating and driving engineering-level relationships with telecom network infrastructure/application providers, understand technical and business requirements from customers and partners, and drive adoption of AWS Services to host 5G and fixed networks.
- The candidate will lead a team of Business Developers and Solution Architects responsible of creating Network Solutions using AWS Cloud Services, this includes Network workloads like 5G Core, Radio Access Network, Fixed Network Core, Cable Head-end and Fixed Access Network etc.
- Work with multiple sales and technical teams within both AWS and global technology solution providers to define and execute joint technology, marketing and sales initiatives.
- Serve as a key member of the AWS Telco Go to market and Solutions team leadership, to define and deliver the overall go-to-market strategy.
- Ensure that there is a strategic business development plan for target markets/customers/solutions. This includes the creation of detailed account plans to track partner progress and achievement to goals.
- Set and manage revenue and customer win targets for the team, and each technology partner. Create and execute the team's business plan together with key internal stakeholders (e.g. service teams, marketing, PR, legal, support, etc.).
- Understand the technical/business requirements of each telco provider’s Network strategy and work closely with the internal AWS development and product teams to guide the direction of AWS offerings.
- Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team. Manage complex negotiations. Create and execute business operations mechanism.
A day in the life
Your typical day could include constructing new commercial/business relationships so AWS can expand its Telecom offerings globally with telecommunications carriers, opening unique business opportunities in a market making and competitive space. You will build and manage deep engineering collaborations with Key ISVs, designing prototypes and production workloads with customers and partners to employ virtualized Network Functions on AWS Cloud. You will be creating new business value propositions for customers, leading complex commercial and technical negotiations, and/or preparing for an industry conference to provide thought leadership.

- - 10+ years of building and leading large teams and working in matrixed operating structures experience
- - 10+ years of experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders, C-level executives and cross functional teams or equivalent
- - 10+ years of experience in strategic thinking about business, enterprise software products, and new technology platforms and architectures or equivalent
- - 10+ years of experience working in or with customers in the Telcom space
- Prior experience in defining and executing global go-to-market strategies across Telecom Network Infrastructure Sales while working with Tier1 Telcos will be a plus. MBA or Master’s degree in a technical discipline is preferred.
- Proven ability to build scalable products and solutions in the Telecom segment. Proven ability to lead business development and sales teams to enter new market segments.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $174,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $288,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
