As a Senior Software Engineer - Frontend on this team, you will partner and collaborate with the UI platform team and Fluent Design System efforts, to design and develop world-class Web UI experiences that enhance our platform and support innovations for our customers. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript or React 
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years technical design experience

Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
    • OR related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript or React 
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript or React 
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to match redlines and design specs. 
  • Demonstrated experience translating design comps into accessible experiences. 
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively cross functionally with other teams (Design, Research, Engineering, PM). 
  • Posession of GitHub or other links showcasing your development skills OR a UI/UX portfolio. 
  • Experience comfortably working through ambiguity and competing priorities. 
  • Experience working with React UI libraries like Fluent, Material, etc.
  • Interest in web-standards, technology, and trends, with an eye toward the future. 
  • Previous experience or knowledge in the design systems space. 
  • Working knowledge of visual design tools such as Figma. 
  • Passion for invention, human-computer interaction, and seamless user experiences .
  • A growth mindset to find out how things work and how to make them better. 
  • Hands on experience with debugging and problem solving skills


Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
