Auditing/Policy/Coordinating Leadership Function

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and undeserved communities around the world.

Have you wanted an opportunity to secure an advanced satellite broadband telecom service? The Kuiper Security team owns the security of product and operations of Project Kuiper end-to-end. We provide the necessary paved path services, infrastructure and mechanisms to ensure the security of our satellite constellation and to protect the integrity and confidentiality of our customer data. Our team drives the research & development, deployment and operation of several mission-critical security systems and mechanisms. You will work in a start-up like environment, backed by Amazon’s infrastructure to bootstrap security mechanisms, and help instill the security culture in the organization.

We are looking to hire a Senior Industry Specialist that has experience in working directly with engineers and managers across the company to develop connectivity solutions for the physical and logical layer of our Public Key Infrastructure and Code Signing environments. You will have ownership and accountability of PKI and code signing solutions and controls that allow Kuiper PKI solutions hardware to be aggregated and Data Centers to be interconnected for continual uptime and redundancy. The successful candidate is comfortable interacting with both technology and business leaders across the organization at all levels. You will work with a diverse, multi-disciplinary engineering team to determine the requirements and set the bar for our security best practices, compliance, audits, maintenance, and raising the bar continuously on each. You will also interface with internal and external customers and vendors to insure the security bar, quality, and needs are met for all of the above.


Key job responsibilities
- Work with our peer teams and customers to design and support compliance/implementation of data center/physical security solutions for the Kuiper PKI systems that meet the mission criteria and requirements
- Translate business, government, and industry compliance requirements into useable and scalable engineering and operational actions.
- Create audit and Amazonian documentation, compliance reports and articles to enable customer and auditor inquiries.
- Assist the team in managing key generation ceremonies for internal and external customers
- Collaborate with your fellow team members to form a strong foundation for a security organization in Project Kuiper
- Clearly communicate vision, deliverables, and project status to management and key technical and business stakeholders
- Help on-board and mentor new team members
- Utilize AWS and other Amazon technologies to build high-available software services for each hardware and data center and/or hosting solution

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 10 + years of PKI or I.T. specific audit/GRC management experience;
- 5+ years writing I.T. specific policies, procedures, and/or controls
- A masters degree in a related field and/or 5+ relevant years experience in I.T. auditing and/or Data Center management experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with owning/developing PKI governance functions.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
