DESCRIPTION

The Generative AI Innovation Center at AWS empowers customers to harness state of the art AI technologies for transformative business opportunities. Our multidisciplinary team of strategists, scientists, engineers, and architects collaborates with customers across industries to develop and deploy generative AI applications at scale.

As a full-stack engineer on our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the front-end user experience and backend system architecture. You will drive the end-to-end development of the GenAI application for different use cases and industry applications, including chatbot/customer support, document processing, multimodal content creation, and various workflow automation solutions.

This role offers an opportunity to innovate at the forefront of AI, focusing on the solution development at massive scale and delivering next-generation AI solutions for AWS customers.


Key job responsibilities
• Design, develop, deploy, and optimize generative AI solutions built on AWS services
• Develop responsive, intuitive user interfaces using modern front-end technologies (e.g., React, Javascripts)
• Customer collaboration: interact with enterprise customers to understand their business and technical challenges, co-developing tailored generative AI solutions
• Translate prototypes into production-ready, scalable systems


A day in the life
As you design and code solutions to help our team drive efficiencies in software architecture, you’ll create metrics, implement automation and other improvements, and resolve the root cause of software defects. You’ll also:
- Build high-impact Gen AI solutions to deliver to our large customer base
- Participate in design discussions, code review, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders
- Work cross-functionally to help drive business solutions with your technical input
- Work in a startup-like development environment, where you’re always working on the most important stuff

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience with Gen AI implementation including front-end development (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React), back-end model integration and API design.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full stack development experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, vector database, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), agentic AI, guardrails, and other Gen AI toolings and patterns.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
