Key job responsibilities
Lead the design of new features and initiatives across the organization
Investigate, prototype, and deliver new and innovative software test frameworks, applications and tools
Deliver high quality software through working in a dynamic, team-focused Agile/Scrum environment
Champion best practices for software automation and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver exceptional-quality work on tight schedules

We are looking for a passionate, talented Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who can drive key engineering and business decisions that impact Amazon’s long-term vision, including innovation in the delivery and consumption of media and entertainment. In this development role, you will have an opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and quality of next-generation products used every day by people you know.
About the team
Are you looking to join a dynamic team at the forefront of performance engineering? Our Performance team is instrumental in shaping the way we measure and optimize product excellence. We create and maintain sophisticated automation tools and frameworks for performance testing. Our expertise helps identify critical performance bottlenecks and drives strategic optimization decisions.
Our influence extends beyond internal operations, as we enable third-party NPI launch QA partners to take ownership of performance measurement using our proven frameworks, tools, and methodologies. We're currently in an exciting phase of growth, taking on new device launches while developing innovative ways to scale our operations efficiently. We're also embracing next-generation AI technologies to enhance our testing capabilities and deliver more intelligent performance insights.
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development testing experience
- 1+ years of test automation frameworks and tools building experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Experience in platform-level security mitigations and hardening for Linux and Windows
- Knowledge of overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance in a database environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
