The Purview Data Governance team’s mission is to deliver a market leading solution for enterprise data management, discovery, understanding, and access. The customer personas served by Purview Data Governance include the enterprise data office, enterprise-wide data owners and data stewards, and enterprise-wide data consumers across all organizational functions. We are seeking a passionate and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join us in our mission of building a market-leading SaaS product for enterprise data governance for our customers. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in single page web app UX development in TypeScript/JavaScript, React/Redux/Angular, HTML5, CSS3, and AJAX/REST API/JSON handling.

 

Other Requirements:

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desire to become an expert in the practice of modern data governance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, Scala,
    • OR equivalent experience, and 3+ years hands on experience in middle-tier and backend infrastructure on Azure delivering modern distributed applications.
  • Experience implementing end-user products → Customer-facing applications, not just internal tools or backend services.
  • Experience with SDKs & UI Controls → Custom UI component libraries, reusable SDKs for third-party developers, or plugin-based architectures.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.

Responsibilities

Drives a customer-first, live site-first, design-first, and agile team culture to develop, secure and operate cloud services at high scale, throughput, and resilience. Leads and implements design decisions to champion and incorporate scalability, cost optimization, and observability. Develops and maintains a comprehensive architecture and execution plan for the long term.
