Our team focuses on mitigating risks and enabling selection for business models and programs that aim to create selection parity for all Amazon customers worldwide and optimize the cross-border shopping experience. We achieve this by:
Creating broad, reusable product-based classifications that are agnostic to business models or programs for partners to enforce upstream.
Delivering value to our customers by: a) Helping them navigate compliance environments b) Designing, implementing, and maintaining necessary compliance controls for their business models and programs at the lowest cost c) Supporting downstream systems, programs, and compliance enforcers affected by our controls while minimizing impacts on their charters.
This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments while driving innovation and efficiency in cross-border operations.
Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Risk Manager, you will lead cross-border initiatives and compliance efforts, working closely with diverse teams across the organization. Your key responsibilities include:
•Collaborating with corporate counsel, legal teams, business units, selling partner experience and support teams, operational excellence, product teams, and BI and data science/engineering teams to deliver new launches and support ongoing projects.
•Influencing behavior, planning projects, and working cross-functionally with global stakeholders to operationalize and implement regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with all corporate compliance program expectations and applicable international, domestic, and local laws.
•Conducting risk assessments related to existing processes and new product assortments, recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures, including process changes and training considerations.
•Leading the launch of new cross-border initiatives by incorporating multiple workstreams and programs across organizations, building processes, mental models, and tenets to achieve successful implementation at scale.
•Acting as the program lead, working with Operations, Compliance and Safety programs, Product and Engineering teams, and Worldwide Business and Legal teams to define requirements, design workflows, and implement solutions.
•Focusing on reducing cost to serve while increasing controls coverage and quality for cross-border businesses, improving systems supporting the Cross Border Compliance team.
About the team
Cross Border Compliance (CBC), part of the Regulatory Intelligence, Safety, and Compliance (RISC) organization, has a mission to enable selling partners to list once and sell globally across borders while protecting customers from unsafe, illegal, illegally marketed, controversial, or policy-violating products.
- 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
- Master's degree or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
