We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. 

 

As the Microsoft Commerce Experiences team, we provide world-class signup to commerce experiences to our customers and partners. You will be joining the project on the ground floor, so your ideas will shape the future of the project. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 
  • OR equivalent experience. 
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering practices, coding and foundational knowledge in data structures and algorithms, with problem solving, debugging and analytical skills. 
  • 2+ years’ experience in design and implementation of large-scale cloud services. 

 

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in design and coding skills with additional experience in architecture at scale.
  • Experience creating, developing, delivering, deploying, and maintaining online services.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS or similar cloud computing platforms.

 

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Guide efforts and discussions for the architecture for products/solutions (ex.- design, cost). Create proposals for architecture and design documents, identification of dependencies, technical decisions. 
  • Partner with project management team to determine user requirements, KPIs & success metrics. 
  • Lead by example and mentor others (through code review) to produce extensible and maintainable code used across products. Lead efforts to optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI). 
  • Building highly scalable services (API, backend) with high scenario quality metrics.
