We are building next generation of Kubernetes node functionality, breaking down the scalability and reliability limitations, and enabling large-scale AI/ML workloads. Kubernetes is evolving to support new types of workloads in a way that requires changing core assumptions/concepts.

We are investing in "Node and Workloads enablement" which covers VM/Machines, Resource Management, Workload Management, Kubelet, Pod, Container runtime etc across both GKE product and OSS investments.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop an ambitious roadmap for projects in collaborations with various stakeholders such as Product Management, and Technical Program Management, and compute teams across Google.
  • Work with teammates to identify opportunities to make Node simpler, more robust, more scalable, and able to empower next-generation workloads.
  • Engage in OSS community and collaborate with Node and related SIG groups/leads.
  • Expertise with low level system infrastructure (e.g. networking linux kernel), memory management, highly useful in Kubernetes node initiatives
  • Utilize experience with large-scale cloud customers and reliability efforts.
