In this critical role, you will play a key part in defining the camera control module for iPhone sensing roadmap and influence the landscape for the next generations of Apple consumer electronics, providing Apple customers with the best user experience in the industry. You will lead development and integration of touch and force sensing technologies while working with world-leading suppliers and multi-functional system teams at Apple.
As the engineering program manager, you will oversee and coordinate specifying, developing, characterizing, integrating, and validating touch and force sensing systems at the module and system level, as well as facilitating the top-level feature integration and multi-functional communications! The Camera Control Sensing Hardware Team features a collaborative environment with creative people who work closely with other multi-functional teams on innovative technologies. This team defines and integrates capacitive and force sensing solutions across a variety of Apple products. Engineering excellence, technical curiosity, innovation, and thoroughness are expected and encouraged. Working without constraints to design and ship innovative products with best-in-class technologies and user experiences is the main goal of this sensing technology team at Apple. Come, join us in moving the needle and crafting solutions.
Your responsibilities would include:
Lead and align multi-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, process, reliability, software and firmware engineering to deliver powerful sensing solutions and integrate them into new platforms.
Act as a liaison between multi-functional teams and ensure tight inter-team coordination and communication. Define the program plan/schedule and manage program execution.
Help deliver executive communication/presentations and drive the decision-making process.
Manage and support engineering development builds leading to mass production. Keep track of engineering activities such as performance validation, yield optimization, and failure analysis coordination.
Work with suppliers and system teams to proactively identify and resolve issues. Manage multiple suppliers and vendors in preparation for, and execution of, engineering development builds and new sensor development.
Support internal proof-of-concept hardware and software development for new application investigations.
Effectively and consistently communicate overall program status to cross-functional partners and the executive team Identify and resolve conflicts, inter-dependencies and program issues quickly and efficiently .
Work with the cross functional teams to identify and mitigate program risks.
Efficiently and effectively react to unexpected changes in the program due to outside influences and/or issues that arise.
Work with engineering management to define the camera control roadmap. Improve the system: look for patterns, offer best practices and implement change.
