Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
  • Experience programming in one or more of the following languages: Ruby, Python, Java, C++.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • Experience in concurrency, multithreading, and synchronization.
  • Experience with quantum computing.
  • Background in high performance scientific computing, C++ or other compiled languages.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
  • Develop a quantum compiler for translating logical quantum computations to detailed low-level programs that realize quantum computations fault-tolerantly.
  • Integrate the quantum compiler into the qubit control stack.
  • Improve code quality and test coverage in legacy scientific software.
  • Support experiments that realize early fault-tolerant quantum computations on future Google's quantum processors.
