Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities. You will be responsible for the imaging optics integration with opto-mechanical modules, including its architecture, component requirements, sensing, and schematics of boards and flexible assemblies. You will have complete responsibility for the mechanical design and integration from the conceptual stage to production. You will work on validating and characterizing the module, including its performance, signal/power integrity, and participate in defining the test requirements. You will also act as the primary responsible party for failure analysis at both the module and system levels.
You'll be expected to:
- Generate concepts and solutions to multi-disciplinary optical system alignment and actuation related challenges.
- Translate module requirements and features into detailed opto-mechanical specifications, develop schedules, and deliver solutions in a predictable and timely manner.
- Collaborate with optical, electrical, process, controls systems, sensing, test, and mechanical teams to integrate the opto-mechanical modules into the optical system.
- Perform mechanical, magnetic, and electro-mechanical modeling to evaluate and optimize concepts and designs. Analyze static and dynamic structures to quantify fundamental device performance.
- Work with cross-functional team to assess risks, understand coverage needs and priorities, and identify novel characterization techniques to measure key performance metrics of complex and novel components.
- Perform statistical analysis of data to determine module performance.
- Visit suppliers to support engineering builds and assist with failure analysis activities.
- Generate and maintain comprehensive documentation of specifications, manufacturing, test, and failure analysis processes.
- Prototype, evaluate, debug innovative ideas, and generate new intellectual property.
