The Amazon Books team is actively recruiting for experienced Software Engineers for the Print on Demand Expansion (PODX) team located in San Luis Obispo, California. Join us as together we revolutionize the book industry. We’ve empowered a new wave of self-motivated creators, tearing down barriers that once blocked writers from reaching readers worldwide and earning more.
Did you know that many of the products you buy on Amazon didn’t exist before you ordered them? The Make-On-Demand (MOD) Tech team builds technology that allows us to manufacture items such as books at the time they are ordered by customers! This technology spans from the collection of digital assets from content creators to the machine integrations and associate workflows that power the actual creation of products within Amazon Fulfillment Centers globally. Our services bridge the boundary between digital and physical, operate at Amazon scale, and serve a growing customer base of independent authors and enterprise publishers around the globe, who can now offer on-demand print books selection. With Amazon Books, titles never go out of stock!
We accelerate growth for POD by bootstrapping new products and expanding into new geographies and sales channels, thereby creating new opportunities for content creators to expand their reach. Our team builds rich applications and POD systems that empower anyone to realize their dream of becoming a published author. We strive to provide an experience that is feature-rich, yet simple to use and accessible to all.
You’ll innovate on our team to build POD systems which ensure inventory is “always available” by producing books upon receiving orders. You’ll ensure POD is a first-class supply type and offering here at Amazon, in any region we sell books, thereby revolutionizing inventory management and ensuring in-stock protection. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about innovating and evolving an ever more-challenging world-class POD experience, shaping the future of the book industry.
Join us to make a profound impact for our authors, publishers and readers of print books alike. You will have the opportunity to leverage your technical skills in areas such as algorithms, object-oriented design, distributed systems, web development, devices /IoT, caching, workflows, NoSQL, and much more. You also have the opportunity to collaborate with diverse business and technical partners to shape our technology globally. You will be the voice of authors and readers, driving technological innovation to create an unparalleled “on-demand’ content creation, discovery, production, and delivery experience.
