The Camera Systems Engineering Group is responsible for the systems-level analysis, design, and development of new camera features and technologies for performance enhancement. The team is seeking an exceptional systems engineer with broad skills to lead research and development projects.
Description
As a Camera Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for performing system-level analysis and modeling of imaging and sensing systems and the definition/execution/automation of system level tests for parametric specifications and end-to-end performance. Responsibilities include:
• Defining and documenting systems architecture, requirements, use case analysis, and tests for camera features and technologies
• Defining subsystem and system level tests to characterize and/or guarantee parametric specifications and system level performance
• Designing and performing laboratory experiments and documenting the results
• Compiling and analyzing data from multiple sources to gain insight into user behavior
• Developing, maintaining, and documenting software and workflows to automate repetitive measurements (Python, Matlab, shell scripting, C/C++, etc.)
• Managing project deliverables and schedules to meet commitments to product development teams
Minimum Qualifications
BS in a relevant field (EE, ME, CS, or Physics) or equivalent
Knowledge of digital camera and/or optical systems technology
Experience in designing/performing laboratory experiments for testing optical systems
Experience in system level modeling/simulation, quantitative data analysis, and/or image/signal processing in Matlab and/or Python
Preferred Qualifications
MS/PhD in a relevant field (EE, ME, CS, or Physics) or equivalent
3+ years of industry experience
Experience with defining/documenting system level requirements and defining/executing system and subsystem level tests/analysis to validate overall system performance
Experience with software/hardware automation
Experience with collaborative software development and regression testing (e.g. git, Jenkins, etc.)
Familiarity with one or more of the following: image signal processing pipelines, CMOS image sensors technology, analog/digital electronics
Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across groups
Self-motivated and capable of independently leading projects
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
