People readiness is equally important to business readiness. The Software University (SWU) team focuses on helping to enable a culture of innovation and learning, where employees and managers work together to foster everyone’s growth and development. Learning and development opportunities are developed and delivered across a variety of critical areas, and include large-scale cross-functional initiatives to drive employee engagement within SWE and across Apple. The Learning and Development manager role will work closely with SWE leaders and cross-functional partners to identify needs and opportunities for technical training and development. This role will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of Software University’s Learning and Development team.
- Lead a team of technical trainers and project managers as direct reports.
- Own L&D strategic roadmap for all employee onboarding, technical training, and employee development programs.
- Oversee content development to ensure team deliverables are high quality and meet organization requirements.
- Manage existing software training and onboarding programming, including: SWE Onboarding, the Manager Development Program, and Technical Training—such as Swift and App Programming; plus internal growth and development programs.
- Collaborate with other SWE leaders, the People Team, and Apple University to understand, evolve, create, and respond to training opportunities and initiatives to develop best in class learning solutions.
- Evaluate, track, and report on the impact of training and programs to senior leadership.
- Identify new opportunities and evaluate existing opportunities to improve training measures.
- Support org readiness & training programs for roll-out of new tools, processes, & people development initiatives.
- Drive innovative approach to L&D that engage/excite learners and guide process/policy improvements.
- Identify process improvement opportunities (marketing, tools, workstreams, systems) and drive solutions from conception through implementation.
