Description
As an Engineering Project Manager (EPM) role in the Strategic EPM team, you will be responsible for the system level products (products included but not limited to: iPhone, Mac, iPad, Apple Watch, Accessories) in the following areas:
i) Post-ramp qualifications and new technology trials on current shipping product platforms
ii) MLB/FATP site qualifications for shipping products
iii) Drive as EPM for products in development
This hands-on EPM role focus on driving and aligning cross-functional engineering resources.
Help formulate, follow and execute company’s priority with respect to the above specified areas
Work with cross-functional team DRIs and china OEM/CM teams to resolve engineering issues seen from mass production and field returns.
Identify, evaluate, and drive various activities while clearly communicating the risks, priorities and schedules to cross-functional and management team.
Involve in partnering with NPI EPM group in next generation product developments in post-proto phase.
Respond quickly and effectively, to changes to the overall goals, schedule, and/or architecture
Work with highly skilled cross-functional engineering teams to identify risks, explore solutions, reach consensus and execute mitigations as quickly and efficiently as possible
Identify and prioritize project tasks and risks, and able to filter and distill relevant information for the targeted audience
Requires an in-depth understanding of development and manufacturing process
Requires to have an engineering degree and experience in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
Minimum Qualifications
BS ME/EE degree or equivalent
2+ years of overall industry experience shipping consumer electronics products
Experience in working with China OEMs in high volume production products
Strong multidisciplinary, technical background
Impeccable organizational, multi-tasking, and management skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
Willingness and ability to travel internationally
Preferred Qualifications
MS ME/EE degree or equivalent
Experience with portable products including displays, batteries, WiFi/BT, cellular, input devices, enclosures, silicon, and/or mass storage
