The Cocoa team designs and implements frameworks which deliver user level features and developer APIs that are essential building blocks used by Apple and third parties to create top-notch applications for the Apple platforms.
The team's deliverables include a wide range of rich functionality in areas such as user interface, text, graphics, document handling, asset management, data modeling, persistence, concurrency, and operating system interaction.
We are looking for critical thinkers with a sharp eye for detail who would like to play a key role in qualifying the Cocoa frameworks and helping ensure Apple software is of the highest quality.
Description
As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) you will collaborate with engineering and cross functional teams to develop tests, drive validation strategy, and build testing infrastructure. This is a hybrid QA/Development role with a focus on contributing to our overall automation effort. You will work alongside development teams to deeply understand the technology and create test plans around it. Your automation work will involve designing, prototyping and maintaining test applications and automated test suites for exercising various SDK/APIs and functionality in the System for UI frameworks. Your debugging skills and attention to detail will help us to mine actionable defect reports on a daily basis while continually improving the health of our test products.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Strong object oriented programming and software design skills, preferably in Swift or Objective-C
Understanding of Application development and Unit Testing preferably using Xcode and XCTest
Detail oriented, analytical, and creative problem solver with passion for quality processes
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with developing system and feature level test plans and test cases
Experience writing production-ready automated UI and non-UI tests
Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Solid understanding of UNIX-based systems and command-line tools for debugging, analysis, and automation
iOS and macOS power user
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $121,900 and $214,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
