As a Silicon Failure Analysis Engineer, you will be responsible for performing hands-on physical and electrical failure analysis at the silicon level. You will be accountable for recommending corrective actions as well as conveying results to the team and upper management to find out a solution. Your expert knowledge and analysis will be indispensable in guaranteeing our beloved Apple products to be delivered to the world on time.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform daily activities for silicon failure analysis (FA) for advanced technology nodes
- Conduct electrical and physical fault isolation using various FA tools
- Develop comprehensive FA methodologies for advanced silicon FA
- Prepare technical reports summarizing failure analysis findings
- Evaluate and maintain new equipment and techniques related to silicon failure analysis
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with at least 7+ years of relevant industry experience in Silicon Failure Analysis for advanced technology nodes
Deep understanding of fundamental failure analysis methodology
Hands-on proficiency in performing physical and electrical failure analysis at the silicon level
In-depth knowledge of semiconductor, IC, and PCB design
Knowledge of semiconductor physics and advanced fabrication processes
Deep understanding of analog and mixed signal design/debug
Proficiency in transistor device physics, Silicon device analysis, sophisticated CMOS processes and circuit analysis
Strong technical writing and communication skills
Ability to work effectively across engineering organizations and functions
Preferred Qualifications
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field
Hands on experience with multiple EFA tools and techniques such as LIT, FIB, SEM, TDR, VNA, SAM/CSAM, Curve Tracer, Oscilloscope, sample preparation, laser decapsulation, emission microscopy, nano-probing, etc.
Expertise in optical fault isolation techniques such as PEM, LSM and dynamic laser-based techniques like OBIRCH, DLS/LADA, LVP, and LVI
Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in silicon de-processing and transistor characterization using various e-beam-based techniques like EBIRCH, EBAC, and EBIC in nano-probing
Knowledge of DFT and ATPG debug isolation techniques using PXIE
Familiarity with DFT concepts, JTAG, and ASIC design flows desired
Linux command line and scripting skills
